After the closure of the DAO, Etc was created, in the blockchain of which the stolen 3.6 million altcoins are still stored. ETC has proven to be much less valuable and influential compared to ETH
The Ethereum DAO can be built with the support of Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation. Ten years after its dissolution, the management organization is expected to bring a new level to the project and focus on a more mature cryptocurrency market.
The DAO was launched in April 2016. Initially, it was an organization based on the ownership of ETH. Now it can return in the form of a fund with 75,000 ETH, which was not claimed after the closure of the initial DAO.
The DAO became an original model for such organizations, but it did not last very long. The governing body was dissolved after 3.6 million ETH was stolen as a result of hacking. The funds were later returned during an extremely controversial hard fork, which some believe damaged the "code is law" principle of the early Ethereum community.
After the closure of the DAO, Ethereum Classic was created, in the blockchain of which the stolen 3.6 million altcoins are still stored. However, ETC has proven to be much less valuable and influential compared to ETH.
Griff Green, co-founder of several projects of the Ethereum ecosystem, called the revived DAO a new era for Ethereum, which "will allow us to pay more attention to network security and protection against exploits." The organization will allocate funds for security grants and build reserves for future operations.
