The US government is preparing to release a version of Anthropic PBC's artificial intelligence model to major federal agencies amid concerns about cybersecurity risks,
according to a memo seen by Bloomberg News.
Gregory Barbaccia, the federal chief information officer at the White House Office of Management and Budget, said in an email to Cabinet officials on Tuesday that the Office of Management and Budget is setting up safeguards that will allow their agencies to begin using the Mythos artificial intelligence tool.
The email does not confirm that agencies will have access to Mythos, does not provide a timeline for deployment, or specify how they can use it. Chief technology and cybersecurity officials were told to expect additional information in the coming weeks.
