Italy recorded a €13.4 billion government budget surplus in July,
the Finance Ministry reported. This figure was lower than the €14.1 billion surplus recorded in July 2025.
The Finance Ministry attributed the July surplus to mid-year tax payment deadlines, which traditionally lead to a budget surplus that month. Most other months of the year typically record deficits.
