Bybit Kazakhstan announces the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with AIFC Markets Ltd.,
the Program Office for the Astana International Financial Centre’s Investment Tax Residency Program (ITRP). Under the memorandum, qualified investments in digital assets made by Program participants via the licensed Bybit Kazakhstan platform will be verified and recognized by the Program Office.
The ITRP is an AIFC initiative that allows eligible foreign investors to obtain Kazakhstan tax residency and an investor visa in exchange for investments made through AIFC infrastructure. The Program already recognizes investments in digital assets made by qualified investors through AFSA-licensed platforms.
For investors, this offers a clear and transparent pathway: opening an account on an AFSA-licensed platform (such as Bybit Kazakhstan), building a digital asset portfolio, and obtaining recognition for these investments under the Program through a streamlined process.
The Memorandum of Cooperation provides for:
A regulated pathway to the Program via digital assets—specifically, qualified investments in digital assets made on a licensed AIFC platform.
Transparency and simplicity—automated, secure investment verification between Bybit Kazakhstan and the Program Office.
New opportunities for international investors—Kazakhstan tax residency combined with access to digital asset markets within a unified system.
"Kazakhstan is establishing one of the region's most consistent regulatory environments for digital assets, and the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Program clearly demonstrates how this approach works in practice," said Ablaikhan Aubakir, Country Manager for Bybit Kazakhstan. "This memorandum means that investors choosing Kazakhstan can build a portfolio of digital assets on a licensed platform and be confident that these investments are recognized within the AIFC framework. It represents another step toward integrating our infrastructure with the country's financial ecosystem."
Bakhtiyar Tleubekov, Chairman of the Management Board of the AIFC Authority, noted:
"The inclusion of digital assets in the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Program is a significant step in the development of Kazakhstan's investment infrastructure. We are consistently expanding the range of instruments for attracting international capital while building a transparent and regulated environment that aligns with global trends in digital finance. The updated program opens up new opportunities for investors within the AIFC ecosystem and provides additional momentum for the development of the digital asset market in Kazakhstan."
The memorandum builds upon the ongoing cooperation between Bybit Kazakhstan and the AIFC. As an AIFC participant licensed by the AFSA, Bybit Kazakhstan continues to work closely with the Center and its institutions to develop regulated digital asset infrastructure in Kazakhstan, and the parties intend to explore opportunities for further joint initiatives within the AIFC ecosystem.
