Maria Machado called the first cryptocurrency a challenge to authoritarian regimes that suppress people's freedoms through economic and political restrictions.

"Bitcoin, as a decentralized cryptocurrency and a digital asset independent of central banks, has become a symbol of resistance to such mechanisms for the people," said the leader of the opposition party Vente Venezuela.

Machado spoke about the practical benefits of Bitcoin in Venezuela, where hyperinflation and financial restrictions have virtually devalued the national currency, and residents use BTC to store wealth and transfer funds, circumventing government controls and restrictions.

"Bitcoin has become a lifeline against political and economic oppression." "While governments use money as a weapon and an instrument of repression, cryptocurrency gives citizens hope for financial independence," Nobel laureate X wrote on social media.

Earlier, Elobservador reported that the rapid devaluation of Venezuela's national currency and the prolonged economic crisis have led to the formation of a parallel cryptoeconomy, where the country's residents actively use digital assets in everyday transactions.
