Valentina Picozzi's Satoshi Nakamoto statue has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Just a few years ago, cryptocurrency was a taboo topic on Wall Street.
The statue's installation on the NYSE was called "a touchpoint between emerging markets and established institutions."
The statue was installed by Twenty One Capital, which began trading this week. The design was created by Valentina Picozzi, who wrote on social media under her username, Satoshigallery, that seeing her latest work in such a prestigious location is "simply incredible."
This is such an achievement that even in our wildest dreams we couldn't have imagined placing a Satoshi Nakamoto statue in this location! "The sixth of 21 Satoshi Nakamoto statues has found its place on the New York Stock Exchange," she added. Picozzi has five more "disappearing" statues of the Bitcoin founder around the world, located in Switzerland, El Salvador, Japan, Vietnam, and the US states of Miami and Florida. The sculptor plans to erect 21 statues worldwide.
The statue itself is intended to evoke a sense of disappearance and the feeling that the inventor remains somewhere between the lines. "Today, Satoshi exists within the lines of Bitcoin's code, enabling humanity to use the first decentralized payment system," she said.
