Binance exchange founder Changpeng Zhao believes that US authorities will trigger a supercycle in the cryptocurrency market.
Zhao reached this conclusion based on two recent events:
1. The US Securities and Exchange Commission removed virtual currencies from its priority list of high-risk assets through 2026;
2. President Donald Trump stated that the current financial system has reached its limit and that the era of cryptocurrencies will soon arrive. By a supercycle, Changpeng means a situation in which the prices of leading digital assets rise without the price dumps seen in the past. If a supercycle occurs, it will end the four-year cycles in which cryptocurrencies experience sharp price declines for a year and then rise in price over the next three years. The fourth four-year cycle began in October 2025 after Bitcoin's price began to decline, falling 36% from its peak of $126,382. If Zhao's prediction comes true, BTC will continue to rise, and the November low of $80,550 will not be broken anytime soon.
Bitcoin's Fall Price Drop
However, Michael Saylor, head of the largest BTC treasury firm, is not optimistic about the emergence of a supercycle. He views the cryptocurrency's price decline during the four-year cycle as a unique opportunity to buy coins at a lower price.
Happy Coin News analyst Yuri Savelyev agrees with Saylor's position and believes that the reduction in Bitcoin's price volatility will place it in the same category as other "boring" assets that are uninteresting to trade.
