US President Donald Trump warned that Washington could "destroy" the facility if Iran attacks Qatar again.
US President Donald Trump said Israel will not launch "more strikes" on Iran's South Pars gas field unless Tehran escalates the situation, warning that Washington could "destroy" the facility if Iran attacks Qatar again.
"Israel, driven by anger over what's happening in the Middle East, has launched a massive strike on a major facility known as the South Pars gas field in Iran," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social late Wednesday.
Trump said Israel would cease further strikes on the key energy facility, but warned that any new Iranian attack on Qatar's liquefied natural gas infrastructure would trigger a strong US response. Trump warned that the United States could completely destroy the South Pars field using "force and power the likes of which Iran has never seen," though he added that he hoped to avoid such an escalation due to its long-term consequences.
These statements followed a sharp deterioration in regional tensions after Iran struck part of Qatar's LNG facilities, which he said followed an earlier strike on its South Pars gas field.
Trump claimed Washington had no prior knowledge of the initial strike and emphasized that Qatar was not involved.
These comments highlight the growing risks to global energy supplies amid intensifying conflict in the Middle East.
