Trump made the announcement following Karol Nawrocki's victory in the Polish presidential election. The American president noted that he supported Nawrocki during the campaign.

"Considering the successful election of current President Karol Nawrocki of Poland, whom I proudly endorsed, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland," Trump said.
