China's central bank announced on Wednesday that it would inject up to 1 trillion yuan ($149 billion) daily via short-term liquidity tools ahead of the Golden Week holiday.
The People's Bank of China stated that it would conduct overnight reverse repo operations between September 28 and October 8 to meet the banking system's short-term liquidity needs.
The bank did not specify exactly which days the operations would take place, nor did it disclose borrowing costs. Demand for liquidity in China typically rises ahead of holidays.
China's interbank bond market will be closed from October 1 to October 7 for the National Day holiday, according to its website. The interbank market will also suspend operations from September 25 to September 27 for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
China's stock market will be closed for the holidays and resume trading on October 8 following the conclusion of Golden Week, according to exchange websites.
