Ethereum developer Vitalik Buterin explained the importance of low-risk DeFi running on the ETH blockchain.
Buterin did not say what exactly he meant by the term "low-risk DeFi", so we can only assume that we are talking about decentralized services that pose little danger to users in the form of loss of digital assets or personal data as a result of hacking.
It turns out that reliable platforms, time-tested and located at the center of the ethereum ecosystem, fall into the low-risk category. And high-risk platforms are located on its periphery and are suitable for people who are willing to experiment in pursuit of profit.
According to Vitalik, low-risk defis are as important to the ETH network as the search bar is to Google. The value of these decentralized services is due to the fact that they perform two functions at once.:
• bring a lot of income to ecosystem participants;
• meet the needs of blockchain users.
Obviously, low-risk DeFi services include those that can boast the highest value of blocked cryptocurrencies. This list includes, for example, the Lido staking platform, the Aave lending platform, and the Ethena protocol, which released the Ethena USDe (USDe) stablecoin.
The most popular DeFi in the Ethereum blockchain
According to Buterin, in the process of developing low-risk DeFi, new forecast markets will appear to hedge the dangers associated with the depreciation of various assets, credit services based on reputation and allowing you to borrow against small collateral, and flatcoins, whose value varies depending on the consumer price index.
