December 10, the US Federal Reserve held a meeting to discuss the interest rate on loans. Federal Reserve Chairman J. Powell announced a 25 basis point cut.

From December 5 to December 12, 2025, Bitcoin gained about 3.5%. All week, BTC unsuccessfully attempted to break the $95,000 mark. However, the balance of power between buyers and sellers was extremely even this time: four trading sessions of gains and three declines.
Crypto enthusiasts were not thrilled with the Fed's decision, although it theoretically increases risk appetite. The key reason is that Powell didn't announce anything out of the ordinary. The 25 basis point cut was completely in line with the consensus forecast. However, the Fed chairman's speech itself didn't exactly inspire crypto investors. Powell said that the economy is in complete uncertainty. Statistics for October and half of November have still not been collected due to the shutdown that has hit US government agencies. Furthermore, concerns remain over President Donald Trump's import tariff policy.
It's worth noting that the Fed's decision to cut the rate was not unanimous. Of the twelve members of the Central Bank's board that voted, only nine voted in favor.
The decision didn't lead to a surge in Bitcoin, but only slightly pushed prices higher. Perhaps the situation will change in May 2026, when Jerome Powell's term as Fed chairman ends and a new leader takes his place.
Bitcoin spot ETFs continue to alternate weeks, recording alternate outflows and inflows. This week, it was crypto investors' turn to deposit money. However, the total weekly investment volume of $237.44 million is quite modest. This is especially noticeable when compared to the beginning of October, when the seven-day inflow of funds exceeded $2.7 billion twice. Essentially, investors are still preferring to take a wait-and-see approach, hoping for clearer catalysts for crypto market growth to emerge soon.
