Interactive Brokers Group Inc. is rolling out a new feature allowing retail investors to fund their individual brokerage accounts with stablecoins.
The company is gradually rolling out this feature, starting with a select segment of eligible clients in the US, according to a spokesperson who confirmed the details in an email to Bloomberg on Friday. The new option allows clients to fund their accounts directly from cryptocurrency wallets, eliminating the need for a bank account.
The initiative was first unveiled by Thomas Peterffy, billionaire chairman of Interactive Brokers, during his presentation at the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. financial services conference on Wednesday.
